THE GREATEST NETWORKER…

February 25, 2007

I decided I needed to touch base on another topic for you which is business.  Many, I believe are struggling in their workplace or just financially.  This all comes from first-hand knowledge 🙂  Let me start with a little background:  I am an  RN, I have a rotator cuff injury which keeps me out of the hospital setting, I recently started a home based business with NO idea what I was doing!  What does this all mean?  Well, I decided I needed help with this new business so I started researching.  I was amazed to find so many different resources and information on how to be successful in a home business.  The problem was:  they all had different solutions.  How was I ever going to make  a living in this business from all this different information?  I will tell you 🙂  I took all this information and threw  out all of the ideas that I didnt believe in – that narrowed it down quite a bit.  Secondly, it dawned on me that God wanted the best for me and he “already” knew the plans he had for me — so why not ask him?  That’s exactly what I did!  I realized that Jesus was the “Greatest Networker” ever.  Do you know what he did?  Let’s take a look at some of things I discovered.  He never announced himself as being the “Greatest Networker” – he spoke softly to a few men.  These were’nt corporate leaders or ones who held high positions, they were people like you and me.  He asked them to simply come with him – to learn – and then to go and teach.  What did they need to learn?  Some of the things were: love, compassion, kindness, honesty, and healing.  How can you apply that to your business, you ask?  If you dont apply them, you will fail!  No matter what type of business God has called you to be in, he requires you follow his example – if you do, you will be successful!  God will bless you indeed.  When we can share “feelings”:  hope, assurance, compassion, help etc with those in need, they will listen to us.  We dont do this to trick them, we do it to honestly “help” them.  Look back at his life – as he lead men in his footsteps – many people started to come around to hear what he had to say because they heard “compassion and love” in his voice.  What are people hearing when you speak?  People “gathered” in hundreds and thousands to “hear” him speak!  He was real and he spoke to them in a way they could understand.  You dont have to be a brillant speaker or use big words – follow his example.  He also “gave” them things they needed.  He blessed the hungry with food, he healed the sick, he comforted the broken hearted, etc.  You see, he supplied their “need” – he never crammed anything down their throat or tried to convince them by tricking them.

Follow the “Greatest Networkers” plan – you will be successful when you have the right heart.  Do you know why?  Because he “desires” to use you to reach out and help others.  He taught his disciples to do the same thing.  As they taught people – those people in return did the same.  Isnt this how networking really should work?  When you understand these concepts – you will be leading others to become great networkers!  Following Gods plan and ways are always the most rewarding.  When you face rejection, look back, so did he.

I admit, these were hard truths for me to start applying.  Human nature sometimes wants to take over and whisper in your ear – “hey, your not doing so well in this business, you better start a different approach like the other networkers are doing if you want to make money” – I tell you – DONT!  God will not bless you when you are deceptive – he may let you carry on like that for awhile – but if you look back in history, billionaires lost everything because of their ignorance!  Do it the right way – I promise you God will bless you for it.  So what if it takes you longer to build your business – in the end, you will look back at how your business has grown and at all the “leaders” you taught – to do it the right way!

May he bless you indeed as you Follow in his footsteps!  I hope you will share these simple concepts with anyone you know who is struggling in their business.  My home business will be built on the “right” foundation – will yours?
